We were trying to write a song for a female teen or young 20-something singer--a song about searching for yourself, and not caving to any particular extreme of behavior. A "good girl" type of song, with some soul-searching. And finger-pointing. And name-calling. Okay, maybe it's not such a "good girl" song after all.
